Taking the Plunge

Ah! I'm so excited!! My first real blog! In the past, I have dabbled with other forms of internet sharing, but I think I'm ready to do this blogging thing for real. I guess I should introduce myself somewhat.

I am a sophomore in college seeking to glorify God and struggle with what that looks like in college. I am one of four kids and pretty much obsessed with my family. They are wonderful. I have an older brother, Ryan, a younger sister, Julia, and a younger brother, Davis. I would say I'm very close with both my mom and my dad, although in different ways. Besides investing in people and relationships, I love exercise, learning, and baking. So don't be alarmed when those loves seem to spring up on my page every now and again.

So you might be wondering, "Why blog?" "Why now?"

Simply, it's time. It's time to be diligent about accumulating and organizing the spider webs of thoughts that sneak up into my head and constantly confuse my thoughts. I also want to hold myself accountable. A year of college has already flown by. I want to be able to look back here and remember what I've been through and what I have learned, but most importantly, I want to be able to look back and see how God has been faithful in my life and grown me for the glory of His Kingdom.

So as life goes on in this crazy world of mine while I attempt to balance friends, family, school, sports, and sleep, I am comforted by the faithfulness of the Savior. He promises, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze" (Isaiah 43:2) Let's hold onto to that promise friends. We might feel like we are drowning, but keep your head above water, for God is there with us in our struggle.

I'm so excited to see what this journey brings for us,
Marisa
